Curriculum focus

The Painters Toolkit

An exploration into a range of painters and the techniques they use. The students will experiment with a range of materials before planning and creating their own self-directed artwork, responding to the analysis of an artwork.

Historical Remix

Through research and a presentation, the students will explore a range of historical art movements. Each student will then choose a historically significant painting to remix in any way they choose.

Assessment

Each project contains practical, analysis, and reflection components. All are assessed with regular feedback and rubrics. An end-of-semester examination will test written analysis and creative response skills.
