A major focus at Middle School is the development of our students’ intellectual character. Students are challenged to engage in higher order thinking, with teachers providing rich tasks where students can expand their thinking and apply their knowledge, as well as develop meaningful strategies for learning and revising. We are committed to enabling our students to be open-minded, curious and hardworking citizens, who aspire to achieve their personal best. Whilst our structure values academic achievement, it also includes provision for student choice, enabling students to have an element of control and ownership over their learning. This is achieved through offering opportunities to explore elective areas within Year 8.
