----
The Early Learning Centre is a creative environment for three to five year old children which replaced the prior concept of the College Kindergarten which was part of Campbell House from 1962. It was established as a separately administered kindergarten concept in 1994 and commenced operation in 1995 with an initial enrolment from forty-two families of forty-nine students.
It was originally set up as an all day centre rather than sessional and children were not required to wear a College uniform. It was established in compliance with the then Human Services Department regulations in two rooms with a Three Year Old Group and a Four to Five Year Old Group. An existing Junior School building was used by the ELC together with an ex-army portable. The first ELC Director was Andree Fitzgerald.
