HARDING, Barry D'Altera (1935-2021)

Barry was born in 1935 to Arthur and Priscilla Harding, Geelong. Barry was enrolled as a Day Student in 1946, entering at Form Upper IVA. In 1947 he received a Foundation Scholarship.

Barry soon became involved in the Glee Club, performing key roles in the productions of Pirates of Penzance 1947, The Mikado 1949, Yeoman of the Guard in 1950 and The Gondoliers 1951. He was also part of the School Band and performed a vocal solo at a school concert.

Barry was adept at French, and amongst a number of placings and commendations, received 1st Prize for French Reading and Conversation in 1951. He finished Form VI in 1952.

Barry went on to become a chemist, eventually moving to Tasmania. He was married to Beris and they have four children.

Barry passed away 10 June 2021, aged 86 years.
