HENSHAW, Denis Barton (1960-1975)
Pegasus published the following in 1975:
‘Denis Henshaw was a student at Belmont State School before he entered the Geelong College Preparatory School in 1972 and the Senior School in 1974. During those few years he made a quite remarkable impact on many people. As the Reverend A E Bell said, "We who knew Denis are indeed privileged to have known a young man who possessed a remarkable degree of sensitivity to the needs of others and who had the ability and willingness to communicate his understanding in good-humoured ways". Denis will always be remembered for his participation and enjoyment in school activities, his alertness, remarkably keen sense of humour, and an independence of thought. He gave of his best in a variety of fields. The whole school community was deeply shocked when on 19 April Denis was accidentally killed when cycling to school.’
