Peter attended The Geelong College from 1961-1969, completing grade 4 to Form VI. After College, Peter went on to study Mechanical Engineering at The Gordon Institute. Studies were interrupted to take a Gap Year working in W.A. mining which funded his passion racing Diamond class yachts.

Following his tertiary studies, he spent 20 years working for Shell, which gave he and his wife Jill the opportunity to live in London and Rio de Janeiro. Upon their return to Melbourne Peter started his own IT consultancy company taking him to Brasil, Micronesia, Solomon Islands & Fiji. He loved to be challenged and looked forward to adventures.

Since retiring, he was volunteering his expertise in IT for Operation Newstart.
