JACKSON, Randall Henry (1954-2014)
Randall Jackson who died on 2 November 2014 age 59, served from 1973 to 1986 with the Australian Army Aviation Corps and from 1986 to 1988 with the RAAF as a pilot and flying instructor on both fixed wing and rotary wing aircraft. He then joined Qantas as a pilot.
Randall attended Geelong College from 8 February 1968 to December 1972 and was a member of Calvert House. He had previously been at Ivanhoe Grammar School. At College he was a member of 2nd XI Cricket Teams and the College Baseball Teams of 1971 and 1972. At a recent OGCA reunion he jokingly commented that one of his most engaging memories of College was ‘when staff member, ‘Bicke’ Bickford turned off the live television coverage of the first moonwalk so we could continue with the more important matter of learning English’ .
