Mark Ross Kershaw was born 20 Dec 1960, son of Ross and Marie. He was enrolled at Geelong College to commence Form I (year 7) in 1973. A skilled sportsman Mark performed well in the College’s sporting events. In his first year he won the U13 age group at Athletics and Cross Country. Once Mark entered Senior school he contributed to Morrison’s House sporting record. He represented the College in Athletics, 1st XI Cricket team, 1st XVIII Football team and was awarded multiple house and school colours. At the end of Year 11 Mark received the Fen and Pillow Bursary, for sound academic merit and member of a first team. He was a school prefect in 1978.

After graduating in 1978, Mark studied a Bachelor of Science at Monash University. He continued his sporting career, representing Victoria for the Amateur Football Association, and playing a few reserve games for Geelong and playing in the Geelong Football League.

Following his studies Mark worked at Deakin University, then as a process engineer at Blue Circle Cement Ltd. Mark then moved to Mt Gambia to work for Kimberley Clark Australia. He married Ruth Gove in 1987 and they had two sons. The family returned to Geelong in 1995 where Mark started working at Godfrey Hirst. He then joined Rohm & Haas at Point Henry as Manufacturing Manager.

Mark passed away 16 March 2020, aged 59 years.
