Kenneth Arthur Kumnick was born in 1943 to Arthur and Phyllis of Galaquil, Victoria. Kenneth was enrolled at Geelong College from Form II in 1957 as a boarder. His father had attended College in the 1920s (OGC 1926) as well as his older brother John (OGC 1955).

Kenneth was a successful sportsperson while at school. He was Boys Under 15 Tennis Champion (singles and doubles) in his first year whilst also playing on the Under 15 cricket and football teams. He progressed to the 1st XVIII football team in 1958 and 1959, while still playing tennis and cricket. He served on the Tennis committee in 1959 and received a number of colours: school football colour, house (McArthur) football colour, and house tennis colour.

Kenneth married Net and they had three children. He lived in Beulah for much of his life, working as a farmer.

Kenneth passed away 5 July 2014, in Warracknabeal, aged 71 years.
