'Tim' Maltby.
'Tim' Maltby was the son of Thomas Karran Maltby and Deidre Jean nee Dadds, and entered the Preparatory School at the sixth grade level. He was a student at the College from 1965 to 1970.
He died tragically while undergoing treatment for a heart ailment that had severely restricted his physical activity. Pegasus described his courage and how ‘he accepted this handicap in such a manner that his cheerful fortitude was both an inspiration and a rebuke to those of us who, under far less difficult circumstances are inclined to complain of our lot’. He died 29 April, 1970. His father, Thomas attended the School from 1944 to 1945. The T K Maltby Memorial Cricket Trophy for the best cricketer of the year was named in ‘Tim’s memory.
