McFARLAND, Harold Dowling (1877-1952)

Harold Dowling McFarland, the second member of a notable family who boarded at the College from 1890 to 1895, died on 26 October 1952, after a long illness. He and his three brothers each won the Geelong College Cup, a record which is unequalled. Harold also played in the 1st Cricket Team from 1893 to 1895 and the 1st Football Team from 1894 to 1895.
He attended Dookie Agricultural College, and then spent his life on 'Thelangerin', Hay, NSW, becoming one of the best known sheep men of that district.
