Robert John Neely, grazier, stock and station agent, of Mansfield attended Mansfield Higher Elementary School before coming to the College as a boarder from 1950 to 1956. At College in 1956, he was a member of the Athletics Team and the 1st Cricket Team, a Cadet Corps Corporal and was awarded the J C Cunningham Trophy as winner of the Open Shot Putt.
He died on 9 June 2009 at his home.
His brother, and several of his children also attended the College.
