NICOLSON John Andrew (1936-2014)
Andrew Nicolson, grazier of ‘Streanshalh’ near Campbell Town, Tasmania, specialized in the breeding of Corriedale, Saxon Merino, and Polwarth Sheep and Hereford Cattle.
He came to the Geelong College as a boarder from Scotch College, Launceston attending from 12 February, 1949 to December, 1951. A member of Morrison House and the Under 15 Cricket XI, he finished School in Form IVB.
As a leading grazier and farm manager he was at various times president of the Tasmanian Corriedale Sheepbreeders; Midland Agricultural Association; Tasmanian Stud Merino Breeders; and the Tasmanian Polwarth Sheep Breeders associations in Tasmania. He has also published several items including Australian Corriedale Century 1882-1982 and Tasmanian Corriedales 1888-1977. Andrew died, age 78, years on 5 November, 2014.
