NISH, John Henderson Young (1863-1911)
John Nish, journalist, was a enrolled at the Geelong College on 21 April 1879.
He was the son of Reverend James Nish and Margaret nee Young.
Pegasus noted his death: ‘He graduated from Melbourne University to a position on the Argus newspaper where he became a popular and respected Melbourne journalist. Following a bout of ill-health he resigned in 1910 but returned to work again as news editor of the Herald newspaper. This return was short-lived however and he died in July 1911’.
