Justin Pennefather was born in 1937 to Geoffrey Martin and Jessie Sinclair Pennefather. Geoffrey had worked several properties around Australia before settling in Ballina, NSW. Justin was enrolled at the college as a boarder in 1952, commencing in Form II. In 1955 he completed his Leaving certificate, Form VM.

Justin’s brothers also attended the college, Richard OGC 1955 and David OGC 1961.

Justin was a keen sportsman, participating in rowing, football and swimming. In 1955 he was on the 1st VIII crew, rowing bow position for their Head of the River win. He received a number of Shannon House and School Colours and Cap.

Following school, Justin followed his father in working the land. He was married to Goldie and they had a property near Casino, NSW.

In 1972 the Ad Astra reported that Justin and his family had gone to Tanzania to manage a government beef cattle property for two years.

Justin passed away 26 October 2019, aged 81 years.
