PICKEN, Bruce Sinclair
Born in Geelong on 11 March 1947, the son of Keith Sinclair Picken (1907-1985) and Irene Clara, nee Wright, Bruce Picken was educated at Geelong College from 14 February 1952 until December 1964. After leaving College, he completed an electrical apprenticeship then later worked for Ford Australia as a maintenance electrician.
During the Vietnam War, he was called up under the National Service Scheme. He served (No. 3798786) as a Private in Vietnam with 4th Battalion Royal Australian Regiment (RAR) from 13 May 1971 until 4 November 1971. The Department of Veterans’ Affairs lists him with Vietnam Service (National Service) as a Private with the Royal Australian Infantry Corps (RAR).
His children, Meg and Peter were also educated at Geelong College.
