and the Australian Broadcasting Commission (ABC). Most recently he has been the drive program broadcaster on Geelong’s ‘Pulse’ radio station and a writer for the
Geelong Advertiser
. He was also Chief of Staff of the ill-fated
Newsday
newspaper in Melbourne.
Doug was a student at Geelong College from 1950 to 1961. In his final years he was a member of the Swimming Team from 1959 to 1961 and its Captain in 1961, and a member of the Athletics Team in 1960 and 1961. He was a School Prefect and Day House Captain in 1961, a sergeant in the College Cadet Corps and a member of the Rifle Team in 1960 and 1961. His membership of College Committees covered a diversity of activity and included the Athletics, Debating, Music, Pegasus and Swimming Committees.
