Morongo, a 25th Year Patron of The Australian Youth Classical Music Competition

In 1990, the Geelong Advertiser Music Scholarship Trust was formed through an initial grant of $60,000 made by The Geelong Advertiser. In 2011 the Trustees resolved to change the name of the competition from the Geelong Advertiser Music Competition to the Australian Youth Classical Music Competition (AYCMC). 2020 marked the 30th year of the competition but as COVID-19 prevented running the competition, 2023 is now the 32nd year.

In 2015, the Morongo Old Collegians Association Inc. resolved to support the scholarship, as a way of helping the Geelong Community, with a $10,000 donation, becoming a 25th Anniversary Patron.

The Geelong Advertiser Music Scholarship Trust (GAMST) which runs the AYCMC, are recognised donors in The Geelong College Steinway Fundraiser.
