BAKER, Walter Edmund (1921-2010)


Born at Cobden, 'Ted' attended Jancourt East State School before enrolling at the College as a boarder from 1933 to December, 1936. He was a member of the College Athletics Team from 1934 to 1936.


During World War II, he first enlisted with the 4th Light Horse Regiment (Camperdown) but transferred to the RAAF in November, 1940, later becoming attached to the USAAF 30th Heavy Bombardment Group where he flew B17 Flying Fortresses. He died at Rochester Hospital on 3 October, 2010.
