BORTHWICK, John Malcolm (1929-2006)


John Malcolm Borthwick was a day student at the College from 1936 to 1947. Born at 'Rayshaw’, Fulham he was the son of a former Scotch College student, William Arthur Borthwick (SC 1910 -1916) and his wife Helen Pearson. A School Prefect in 1947, he also played in the First Football Team in 1946 and 1947 but was particularly noted at School as an athlete, appearing in the Athletics Team in 1943, and from 1945 to 1947. He was also a member of the Relay Team in 1942 and 1943. His brother David Williamson Pearson Borthwick (1921-2000) also attended the School between 1931 and 1939.

John’s ashes are buried under a tree on the Geelong College Senior School grounds.
