BREBNER, Alastair Gordon (1938-2020)

Alastair Brebner was born to William (OGC 1903) and Elsie Brebner of Coniston, Buangor near Ararat. He boarded at College from Form UIVB in 1949 to Form VI in 1956. A member of McArthur house, Alastair received House Colours for Football and Rowing, having served on the 2nd XVIII football team and 3rd VIII rowing crew. He was a member of the 3rd XVIII Football team in 1955 when they won the VH Proffitt Trophy. Alastair’s older brother William Ian Gordon Brebner also attended College, OGC 1949.

After his College education Alastair returned to the family property and made his life on the land. He had fond memories of his time at school and the mischief he and his friends would get up to. Alastair would go on to be a lifelong supporter of the College and he was a founding member of the Morrison Society (est. 2009).

Alastair passed away 31 December 2020, aged 82 years.
