Harriet Brown

Harriet Brown, international water sports champion, has crowned her career by becoming World Iron Woman Champion of 2016.

Harriet was enrolled at Geelong College from 1997 to 2008. At College, she was a member of the Athletics Team for four years, in 2001, 2003, 2005, and 2007. She was also a member of the Swimming Team in 2003, 2005, 2006 , 2008, Vice-Captain of the Swimming Team in 2008, a member of the Life Saving Teams of 2006, 2007 and 2008 and a member of the Waterpolo Teams of 2005 and 2006 and 2007 (Open A). In 2007, she was a member of the 2nd XI Hockey Team. She played in the Geelong College String Orchestra in 2007 and, in 2008, in recognition of her outstanding sporting prowess, was awarded the DR A J Campbell Prize.

Current World Iron Woman (Oceanwoman) Champion (2016).
2017 Nutrigrain professional series iron woman winner.
2017 Captain of winning Australian team at International Surf Rescue Challenge, New Zealand.
2017 and 2018 Queensland Surf Lifesaving Athlete Of The Year.
2017 and 2018 Molokai to Oahu, Hawaii World Paddleboard Champion and record holder.
2016 International Surfing Association World Paddleboard technical and Distance Champion.
2018 Australian Board Race Champion
2009 - 2018 Six times winner of Lome Pier to Pub Ocean swim.


Her father, Colin (OGC 1972), and sister, Alexandra (OGC 2006), were also educated at Geelong College.

In recognition of her achievement, Harriet Rose Brown was inducted into the Old Geelong Collegians' Association (OGCA) Notables Gallery at Geelong College on 27 October 2018.
