COULSON, Simon James (Sam) (1946-2021)

Sam Coulson was born to Ewan and Ena Coulson ion 1946, the youngest of three boys. He was enrolled as a board at The Geelong College in 1958, beginning in Form UIVA. His older brothers both attended the College, Rob OGC 1954 and Bill OGC 1957.

Sam was active in student life at the College, serving as Mackie House Prefect and School Prefect. He was also minutes secretary of the PFA committee. Sam was also involved in the cadets and 2nd XI cricket team. He received his matriculation certificate in 1964.

Sam went on to become an engineer and worked for 40 years at Ford Motor Company. During his time at Ford he held a variety of positions within product development, both in Melbourne, Geelong and overseas. In 1994 he was Manager, Vehicle Safety & Regulations, Ford and by 2005 the Regional Manager - Asia Pacific, International Strategy Dept, Environmental and Safety Engineering. Between 1988-1991 he was resident in South Korea and Taiwan.

Sam retired in early 2009 and continued to live in Lorne with his wife Ingrid. He was active in his local community and enjoyed to reconnecting with many fellow OGC's through his involvement with Lawn Bowls.

Sam passed away 30 November 2021, aged years.
