Greg Donnan was born to Harold and Reta Donnan in 1951. He entered The Geelong College Preparatory School in 1964. In his final year at the school he was a member of the Cross Country team and received Shannon House Athletics Colours. He passed the Leaving exam in 6 subjects and pursued other studies.

Greg passed away 22 December 2019 aged 68 years.
