LAWLER, Thomas George (1932-2024)

George was the second eldest of the five Lawler boys and boarded at The Geelong College from 1940 to 1949. He was a member of the 1946, 1947 athletics and relay teams, 1948 and 1949 1st XVIII football teams, and together with his older brother Don (OGC 1945), rowed in the 1949 1st VIII. He received multiple House and School Colours for his sporting achievements.

After leaving College in 1940, George played a number of years for the Geelong Amateur Football 1st XVIII team which was then based at Corio Oval. In the 1960s George moved his family from Geelong to Victoria Point, Queensland, where he pursued business interests and a life-long love of fishing. George was married to Carol and they have four children.

George passed away 28 June 2024, aged 91 years.
