LILLIS, Donald James


Born on 15 October 1949, the son of J Lillis, Donald Lillis was enrolled at Geelong College from 31 May 1960 to December 1967. He had previously attended Myrtleford State School. At College, he was a member of the 1st Hockey Team in 1965, 1966 and 1967, Captaining the Team in 1966. He was also a member of the Pipe Band.

He volunteered for service in the Regular Army in 1969. After training he served (No. 313723) as a Private with 3rd Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment (RAR) in Vietnam from 12 February 1971 until 16 October 1971.

The Department of Veterans’ Affairs lists him with Vietnam Service as a Private with the Royal Australian Infantry Corps (3rd Battalion) from 12 February 1971 to 16 October 1971.

He graduated BA and DipEd from Flinders University in 1981 becoming a secondary teacher and then moving to Western Australia.
