Ben McClure was born 11 October 1989 to David and Soo McClure. He started at College in Year 7, 2002. He was quickly recognised as a talented athlete and was involved in a number of sports. He was a member of the Athletics Team in 2003, 2004 and 2006, and played in the 1st XVIII Football team in 2004, 2006 and 2007. In his final year, 2007, he also played in the 1st Badminton team.

His football captain Albert Weddell reported in the Pegasus (2007),
Ben McClure is known throughout the whole of the APS for his strength and speed on the football field. His attitude towards the team was second to none and he gave the side everything he had.

His skills were recognised with a number of Coles House Colours and College Football Honours.

Two of Ben’s sisters also attended College.

Ben passed away 31 October 2020, aged 31 years.
