MOGG, William James (1856-1908)
Born on 29 May 1856 at Geelong, son of James Cox Mogg (c1828-1887) and Harriet nee Plummer. He was enrolled on 31 January 1871. His address at the time of enrolment was Villamanta St, Geelong West. He was a cousin of
Marcus Mason Mogg (1860-1903)
and
Valentine Vincent Mogg (1873-1943)

William Mogg was awarded the following Prizes as listed in the Annual Reports.

The Argus
newspaper of 12 December 1908 reported his death:
'On the 9th December, at Melbourne (suddenly), William James Mogg, late of St. Arnaud, aged 53 (sic) years'.
The Herald newspaper of 9 Dec 1908 also reported:
‘This afternoon, Mr W. J. Mogg, solicitor, who had resided at Montague street, Albert Park, went into the Bull and Mouth Hotel, Bourke street, and suddenly fell to the door in an unconscious condition. Dr. Ward Farmer was called in, and he pronounced life to be extinct. The body was subsequently removed to the Morgue. Death is supposed to have been due to natural causes. The Coroner, however, has been notified, and an autopsy is to be made. The deceased was about 55 years of age.’
He was interred at the Coburg Cemetery on 10 December 1908 in the Anglican section.
