PURNELL, Frank Leslie (1890-1977)


Frank Leslie Purnell was born on 30 May 1890, the son of William Purnell and Emily Jane nee Keown. In 1904 he was enrolled as a day student at Geelong College with an entry address of Aphrasia St, Geelong.

During World War I, he enlisted on 1 August 1916 and served overseas as a Lieutenant with the Army Education Service. He returned to Australia, embarking on 23 July 1919.

Shortly after his return from overseas he married Geraldine Ethel Macoboy, daughter of James Macoboy and Ruth Mary Jane nee Clements).
