SAINT DAVID’S PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, NEWTOWN

St David's Church at the corner of Talbot St and Aphrasia St, Newtown is currently used by the School for religious services. Traditionally, the School used St George’s Presbyterian Church on Latrobe Terrace for Presbyterian Services. Anglican services, when required, were provided at All Saints Church on Noble St. Presbyterian Services however, were transferred to St David’s Church in 1962. The last service attended by College students at St George’s took place on 13 May, 1962. The first College service at St David’s Church occurred on the first Sunday of Term II, 1962. St David’s Church Hall was also the site of the First Geelong College Preparatory School for the first term of 1921 before moving into the newly built School on Aphrasia St.
