SMITH, Andrew Clifford MC (1914-2010)


Born at Ballarat, Andrew Clifford Smith was a student at the College in 1929 having previously attended Geelong High School.

He enlisted in the 2nd AIF on 3 November, 1939 eventually rising to the rank of Major. His unit was to serve in Syria, Greece, the South-West Pacific and New Guinea. He was awarded the MC for gallantry during the Syrian campaign near Fort Merdjayoun in 1941. He was discharged from the army in April 1946 but later served with the RAIC in Korea.
