VAGG, Stanley James (1914-1987)


James Stanley Vagg was the only child of James Alfred Vagg and Rebecca Ada nee Thomas of ‘Emohruo’, Camperdown, where he was born on 25 July, 1914. He boarded at College from 15 February, 1928 until December, 1929. He had previously been educated at Camperdown Higher Elementary School.

On 5 October, 1940, he married Joan Elizabeth Gartner, the daughter of William Herbert Gartner and Kate Elizabeth nee Harston, of Monomeith Ave, Canterbury.

He enlisted (VX42271) on 15 July 1940 and served as a Signalman with the Signal Corps. He was discharged from the 2nd AIF on 21 February 1943.
