VIGANO-PATERSON, Anthony John AM


Anthony Vigano-Paterson, veterinarian, was educated at Geelong College from 1957 to 1963 and was notable for equalling the Public Schools' Hurdles Record in 1963. The A J PATERSON TROPHY FOR HURDLES, which was an annual award from 1984 to 2003 was named after him.

'Tony' was a member of the Athletics Team from 1961 to 1963, its vice-captain in 1963, and a member of the Athletics Committee in 1962 and 1963. He was also a School Prefect in 1963 and a member of the 1st Rowing Crew that year.

'Tony' Vigano is a successful Veterinary Surgeon practising at Swanbourne, Western Australia. His contribution to the community was recognised in 2001 when he became a Member in the general division of the Order of Australia (AM) 'for service to veterinary science, to professional development and to the community through the promotion of responsible pet ownership' .
