YOUNG, Leslie Francis (1893-1955)

Leslie Frank Young was one of six childrenand was born on 28 May 1893 to parents James Young (1852-1925)and Mary nee Bennet (1856-1934)in Hamilton. He was enrolled as a boarder at Geelong College from 1909 to 1911. A biographical entry in Early Pioneer Families of Victoria and Riverina described him: 'born Hamilton, Vic 28 May, 1893. Educated Hamilton and W D (Hamilton and Western District) College and Geelong College. On the staff of Young Brothers, Hamilton until 1919, became a partner in Eulong property, where he resides and later also entered into partnership with his brother James in Heatherleigh estate. Married Katie Elizabeth, daughter of H M Sutherland, of 'Kenilworth', Cavendish' .

He enlisted (V390130) with the Citizen Military Forces at Cavendish, Victoria during World War II.
