RIGGALL, Edward Gregory Manson (1899-1965)


Edward Gregory Manson Riggall was born at Maffra on 19 March 1899, the son of Thomas and Elizabeth Riggall.

He became a boarder at Geelong College on 7 February 1916, leaving in October 1918. His address at the time was 'Wilkar', Leongatha and he was recorded as having previously attended Melbourne Grammar School from 1911 to 1914. At College he was a member of the 1st Football XVIII in 1916 and 1917 and Football Team Captain in 1918. He was also a member of the 1st Rowing VIII in 1917 and 1918 and the Athletics Team in 1916 and 1918. In 1918 he was a School Prefect.

During World War I he enlisted, entering camp on 4 September 1918. He was still there at the time of the signing of the Armistice, and did not serve overseas.
