ROBERTSON, Duncan Alexander Struan (1931-2025)
Struan was enrolled at the College in 1941, starting
halfway through the year as a boarder. He had been evacuated from Singapore and
the whereabouts of his parents during the war was unknown. While his father
survived the war, his mother sadly passed away on one of the evacuation ships.
He arrived at the Preparatory School and moved up to the Senior School as the
years passed. He was awarded a Junior House prize in 1944 and departed from the
College in 1945.
The Pegasus reported in 1948 “Struan Robertson completed his school course by winning six honours in the Oxford and Cambridge matriculation exams.” He went on to study Medicine at Bristol, graduating in 1957, then gained further qualifications in obstetrics and psychiatry.
Struan and Anne married in 1959 and they have two sons, Rowan and Sandy. They lived for a time in Guernsey before moving to Alderney in 1984 where they had a medical practice.
Struan passed away 1 October 2025, aged 93 years.
