ROBINS, Clarence Thomas (1900-1990)


Clarence Thomas Robins, the son of Thomas Robins (1867-1945) and Elizabeth nee Mewburn (1871-1956) was born on 24 March 1900.

He was enrolled at Geelong College in December 1912 after having previously attended Hopetoun State School. He was listed with an entry address of Aberdeen St, Geelong though the enrolment register includes a note 'Boarder from 1st Term 1915.' He left College in December 1916. In his last year, he was in both the 1st Cricket XI and 1st Football XVIII.

He is listed in Pegasus as having served during World War I. The National Archives holds service records relating to his enlistment at the age of 18 in 1918. He described himself as a farmer of Hopetoun.

His name is listed on the Geelong College Great War Memorial Tablet as 'Robins, C. T.'
