ROWE, John William (1933-2020)

John Rowe boarded at The Geelong College from 1948 to 1950, completing Form VI in his final year. Coming from Cohuna, Victoria, John was a strong swimmer. John served on the Swimming committee and won both the Boys Under 15 and U16 championships during his time at the school.He won Shannon House swimming colours in 1948. As part of the cadets, he was part of the winning Clowes Cup team. He was also on the 1st XVIII Football team in 1950 and received a school football cap that year.

In his first year out of school John worked at a Melbourne accountant firm.

John passed away 2 December 2020, aged 88 years.
