SILCOCK, George Kennon (1922-2018)
Born on 25 February 1922 at Shipley, Yorkshire, England, the elder son of Ceorge Ratcliffe Silcock and Marion Elizabeth, nee Kennon, he came to the College (1935-37) from Scotch College (Melbourne).
During World War II, he enlisted (No. VX131348) on 2 January 1943 with 6th Batallion (Royal Melbourne Regiment), then transferred to 4th Aust Division Cypher Section, and served on Hollandia and Morotai (December 1944 - August 1945). He was discharged on 31 August 1945, and on 27 October that year married Jean Francis Shillabeer, of Caulfield.
