'A notable wedding of the week, and one which united two of the oldest pastoralist families of the Western District was that of Miss Mary Violet Thornley Macpherson to Mr Angus Roderick Urquhart. The beautiful bride, who is pictured here in' her charming bridal array, is the only daughter of Dr. Macpherson and the late Mrs Macpherson, and a niece of Mrs W. Boyd, "Wuurong", Camperdown, from whose home the wedding took place.'

His cousin, Lt R W Urquhart, 8 Light Horse, an Old Geelong Grammarian, of Hexham, was killed at Romani, Palestine on 7 August 1916; his name is commemorated on the Jerusalem Memorial.
