Alan Holford Wettenhall was born on 31 October 1873 at Carr’s Plains, Glenorchy, a son of parents, Holford Highlord Wettenhall and Mary Burgess, nee Dennis .
He was enrolled at the Geelong College in 1888.
He died at Geelong on 27 November 1957.
His brothers, Arthur, Milton, Herbert, Marcus, Alexander, and Roland were also educated at Geelong College.
