WILSON, Raymond John (1920-2017)


Raymond John Wilson was a day student at College for a year from 12 February 1936 to December 1936 after student days at Geelong High School. After gaining his Leaving Certificate Jack moved to Melbourne, qualified as an accountant, and joined the Victorian Public Service.

He enlisted during Wrld War II on 8 June 1938 and served as a Lieutenant with 2nd Field Regiment then the 2nd AIF from October 1941 in New Guinea and Bougainville. His service ended on 3 January 1946. He returned to the Public Service and, at retirement, was Chief Finance Officer with the State Rivers & Water Supply Commission. He was an active member of Glen Iris Presbyterian Church, and Glen Iris Uniting Church. His brother, Ronald Craig Wilson (1922-1969), OGC 1935, also boarded at College.

He died at Sunlight Aged Care, Whittlesea, aged 96 years, on 21 March 2017.
