Pegasus in December 1923 noted his activities: ‘S. P. Wilson (1867), of Carrah Leigh, Jerilderie, has recently celebrated an interesting jubilee - that of his first taking up land in New South Wales. The name of Leigh has been added to Carrah in remembrance of his early associations with the Leigh at Invererleigh, where his father owned a flour mill in the early sixties, and from where he attended the original College in Skene Street.’
He died on 3 January 1943 at Jerilderie Hospital, Jerilderie, New South Wales. Pegasus reported his death: 'Samuel Parker Wilson, who passed away on January 3 at the age of 88 years, was one of the oldest and most enthusiastic of Collegians. He attended the old school in Skene St, leaving in 1867 to take up business in Geelong. In 1873, he bought a property in the Jerilderie District, NSW and continued a pastoralist for the rest of his life. He was an active public man, taking keen interest in pastoral and agricultural bodies, and also held the position of honorary secretary of the Jerilderie Presbyterian Church for 41 years. Until quite recently he attended Old Boy's reunions and always kept in touch with College events.'
