Ian boarded at the College from 1950-1952. He coxed the 5^th and 2^nd rowing crews and also played in the 3^rd XVIII football team. Ian went on to be the overseer of the property Gunnong Jugrawah at Gobarralong near Gundagai.  Ian had three children, David, Richie and Debbie.

Ian passed away 21 November 2024.
