Anita Ziemer (OGC 1977) is a respected business leader and advocate for social impact, whose career spans executive leadership, entrepreneurship, media, and philanthropy. As Executive Director of Slade Group, a leading HR and recruitment firm, Ziemer has played a pivotal role in shaping talent strategies across multiple industry sectors, including global search through the Transearch alliance.
Ziemer’s entrepreneurial spirit led her to co-found and later sell The Marketing Bank, along with two other ventures, demonstrating her acumen in building and scaling businesses. She currently chairs Luxity Media, publisher of Boss Hunting the leading Australian men’s lifestyle website.
Her career includes executive roles in government, not-for-profit, and corporate sectors, including the Bank of Melbourne, MS Society, and the Royal Children’s Hospital. She has served on numerous boards, including the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia, and is a Director of the Blue Sky Foundation, which supports mental health research.
Ziemer’s passion for education and the arts is evident in her tenure as Chair of Melbourne Girls’ Grammar School (2011–2016) and as a Director of the Wheeler Centre for Books, Writing and Ideas (2012–2020). She also contributed to the Australian film industry as Associate Producer of Summer Coda, an indie feature shown at the Melbourne International Film Festival and commercially released, and the 2016 documentary The Students.
Her work reflects a commitment to innovation, equity, and community engagement, making her a prominent figure in Australia’s business and cultural landscape.
At The Geelong College, where she studied and was a boarder from 1976 to 1977, Ziemer was the first female Captain of Morrison House, a School Prefect, and a capable athlete, earning School Colours for softball and House Colours in netball, athletics, and cross country.
Ziemer was inducted into the OGCA Notables Gallery in 2025.
