Welcome to the 2020 VCE Design and Creative Arts (Virtual Exhibition).
For several years now we have titled our final exhibition the ‘Transit Lounge’ signifying the connection between the end of one journey and the start of another. A place to gather with family and friends and marvel at one journey and anticipate another.
In some ways 2020 is no different from any other year but in other ways it has become so very different from every year before it! In a year of global disruption our students have needed to find new ways to explore and express their creativity. They have demonstrated amazing resilience to complete these subjects, that previously benefited from the wonderful resources of the Austin Gray Centre, through being resourceful at home and connecting remotely to gather inspiration, direction and support from their peers and teachers.
What you will see in this virtual exhibition is the breadth of topics explored, the high level of skill achieved and the complex design thinking that each student has worked through to reach resolutions to their topics. We have curated this exhibition in a human voice, briefly introducing what each student was focused on, as we would if we were conducting a curated talk in a physical exhibition in the Keith Humble Centre.
For us, their teachers, this is a year like no other, it is an amazing exhibition, the students have worked tirelessly, and we congratulate each one of them for what they have accomplished and wish them every success in their future.
