ARNOLD BUNTINE WING

ARNOLD BUNTINE WING

The Arnold Buntine Wing at Middle School is the first wing of the Preparatory School opened in 1960. It was named after Dr Martyn A Buntine (1898-1975), Principal from 1946 to 1960, who was ‘largely responsible’ for conceiving the wing.

The Geelong College Council resolved in February 1977 that the 'East-west classroom area of the Preparatory School be named the 'Buntine Wing' in honour of a previous Headmaster of the College Dr. M. A. Buntine.' In April, the Council altered the proposed naming to the 'Arnold Buntine' Wing. Mrs Buntine unveiled a plaque commemorating the naming on 30 July 30 1977.
