BAIRD, Charles Alexander Keith (1899-1960)


The following obituary was published in Pegasus of June, 1961: 'C A Keith Baird died on December 5 after a long illness. Mr Baird had been employed by Dalgety & Co Ltd. for 43 years, and was manager of the wool department of the Company's Geelong office at the time of his death. He had played tennis and golf himself, and was an enthusiastic supporter of the College's Boat Club. His sons, Malcolm and Stuart, are both Old Collegians. Mr Baird was a member of the OGCA Committee.'

'Keith' Baird was enrolled at the Geelong College as a boarder from 4 June 1913 to September 1916. He had been born on 14 October 1899 to parents, Charles Joseph Baird and Mildura nee McEdward, and had been enrolled by his mother.

His sons Charles 'Stuart' Baird, and Richard Malcolm Baird were also educated at Geelong College.
