BAND, Frederick Arthur (1915-1946)

Enrolled as a day student at Geelong College as Frederick Arthur Band on 14 February 1923 he studied at the College until December 1929. He had previously been at Miss Cathcart's School and was living at 4 Coquette St, Geelong West when he was enrolled.

He was born on 1 February 1915 at Geelong to parents Frederick Gilbert Band (1888-1942) and Christina nee Beach. He became a jeweller.

His father, Frederick Gilbert Band (1888-1942) was also educated at Geelong College.

His death was reported in Pegasus:
'Arthur Frederick Band was at the College during the period 1923-29. On leaving school he went into business in Geelong with his father, Frederick G. Band (1905), who died only four years ago. Arthur, who was 31 years of age, passed away on July 30 (1946); he leaves a widow.
