BOUVIER, Frederick Albert (1890-1963)
Frederick Bouvier was born on 4 May 1890, the son of Jules Frederick Bouvier and Margaret, nee Lamb. He was enrolled at Geelong College in 1903, then went on to Scotch College, Melbourne, for his last year. At the time of his enrolment his address was 'Highview', Highton.
He later studied Medicine at the University of Melbourne, graduating MBBS.
During World War I, he enlisted in September 1918 as a Captain in the Australian Army Medical Corps (AAMC) and embarked for England on 30 November 1918 on the ship, 'City of Karachi' .
He was admitted to 1st AGH on 14 February 1919, suffering from influenza, and was confined until 5 March. He was posted to Sutton Veny in February 1920, then granted extended leave from 20 March until 17 April 1920, on which date he embarked for Australia on 'SS Bahia Castillo' .
As he did not embark for overseas until after the Armistice, he was ruled ineligible for the award of service medals.
In 1923, he married May Shelton Spittle, the daughter of Jarvis Spittle and Elizabeth nee McCreden, of Strathfieldsaye, Victoria.
